Fairy Wind

Fairy Wind was introduced as part of the Ancient Prophecy expansion set, released by Konami in 2009 for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. As a common trap card, it was designed as a specialized counter-sideboard option intended to punish strategies heavily reliant on face-up Spells and Traps. Its release occurred during a period when the game's meta-environment frequently utilized continuous support cards, making this trap a tactical inclusion for players seeking to disrupt board states.

The card features artwork consistent with the aesthetic of the era, focusing on the mechanical and magical themes pervasive in the Ancient Prophecy set. By allowing the player to destroy all face-up Spells and Traps on the field and inflicting effect damage for each card destroyed, it served as a clear, high-risk-reward tool for clearing complex fields. It was received by the player base as a niche but effective utility card that prioritized board control over individual card advantage.
