Provenance

Where it came from

Imperial Custom was released as part of the Ancient Prophecy expansion set in 2009. Within the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, this card serves as a continuous trap designed to offer protection to other face-up continuous traps on the field. The mechanics reflect the game's evolving focus on field control and defensive synergy during the mid-2000s era.

The card’s illustration and design align with the thematic aesthetic of the set, which drew heavily on ancient imagery and mystical archetypes. Like many cards of common rarity from this period, it was intended to provide accessible utility for players building deck strategies around continuous trap support rather than serving as a high-value collector's piece.
