Flamvell Uruquizas was introduced in the inaugural Duel Terminal set released by Konami in 2008. The Duel Terminal arcade cabinets allowed players to scan physical cards to battle in a digital environment, marking an innovative intersection between traditional trading card gameplay and interactive kiosk technology. This monster was designed as a key member of the Flamvell archetype, a group of Fire-attribute monsters defined by their synergy with the graveyard and their aggressive, high-damage combat capabilities.

The creature's design features a skeletal, flame-wreathed aesthetic consistent with the volcanic theme of the Flamvell monsters. Mechanically, it functions as a Level 6 Synchro monster that rewards players for aggressive play by dealing piercing battle damage.
