Frightfur Bear

Frightfur Bear was introduced in the 2014 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game expansion set The New Challengers. As a core member of the Fluffal and Frightfur archetype, it reflects the twisted fusion aesthetic of the Fluffal theme, which revolves around the contrast between innocent, stuffed-animal motifs and macabre, mechanical horror. This design language was established to support the playstyle of Sora Perse, a character from the Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V anime series who utilizes these monsters to overwhelm opponents through aggressive fusion summoning.

The card artwork was designed to visualize the concept of 'fusion horror,' blending the cute exterior of a bear plushie with metallic, bladed limbs. Within the game mechanics, its ability to banish monsters it destroys to bolster its own attack power highlights the aggressive, high-risk nature of the Frightfur strategy. While it occupies a lower rarity tier as a rare card, it remains a thematic staple for players dedicated to the Frightfur deck, serving as a key offensive asset during the early cycles of the ARC-V era.
