The card was designed as a continuous trap that imposes a permanent restriction on monsters with level 4 or higher, effectively stalling aggressive deck strategies that relied on high-level attackers. The Dark Beginning 1 set, released in 2004, functioned as a curated reprint collection that brought essential cards from the game’s first few sets back into circulation for a new wave of players. Gravity Bind was included as a common-rarity card in this set, reflecting its established utility as a fundamental piece of technical play.
