Human-Wave Tactics

Human-Wave Tactics was originally introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the Magician's Force expansion, released in North America in 2003. The card was designed to support swarm-based strategies by allowing players to special summon multiple low-level monsters from the deck when a monster on their side of the field was destroyed in battle. This reflected the set's broader emphasis on card synergy and the increasing complexity of field control during the game's early competitive era.

The Dark Revelation Volume 2 set, which included this reprint, was released as a compilation product to increase the availability of cards from previous expansions. The illustration, featuring a horde of small, unified creatures, was created to visually convey the tactical concept of overwhelming an opponent through sheer numbers. As a common card, it was widely accessible to players of all skill levels, serving as a functional, if situational, tool in many casual deck builds throughout the mid-2000s.
