Provenance

Where it came from

Hysteric Party was originally released in the Duelist Legacy Volume 2 set in 2002 before appearing as a super-rare card in the 2013 Legendary Collection 4: Joey's World Mega Pack. It is a continuous trap card designed to support Harpie-themed decks by allowing the player to discard one card to special summon as many Harpie Lady cards from the graveyard as possible. The design reflects the tactical emphasis on swarm-style play often associated with archetypal support in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game.

The card's artwork features Mai Valentine, a central character from the original Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series known for her signature Harpie deck. The illustration captures her thematic style, reinforcing the card's function as a high-risk, high-reward engine for bringing multiple monsters onto the field simultaneously. While the card requires careful hand management, its ability to quickly flood the board has kept it relevant in various iterations of Harpie-based strategies throughout the game's history.
