Imduk the World Chalice Dragon

Imduk the World Chalice Dragon was introduced in the 2017 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game set Code of the Duelist. It serves as a foundational piece of the World Chalice archetype, a sprawling narrative-driven series of cards that follows a group of adventurers traveling through a fantastical landscape. The design focuses on the aesthetic of a celestial, dragon-like guardian, bridging the gap between the mundane and the mythical elements central to the World Chalice lore.

The card was designed to facilitate Link Summoning strategies, featuring a straightforward effect that allows for an additional Normal Summon if used correctly. As part of a larger set that marked the introduction of the Link Summoning mechanic to the game, it reflects the shift toward more complex, positional gameplay. The illustration highlights the artistic direction of the archetype, which emphasizes clean lines and vibrant, ethereal color palettes to distinguish these cards from the more aggressive designs often found in earlier Yu-Gi-Oh! eras.
