Infestation Wave

Infestation Wave was released in the Duel Terminal 5b set, a series that utilized unique arcade-integrated technology to distribute cards in Japanese arcades before receiving international printings. The card is part of the 'lswarm' archetype, a faction central to the Duel Terminal lore that depicts an alien infestation consuming the world. Its design reflects the faction's aggressive, resource-demanding playstyle, focusing on the mechanical sacrifice of lswarm monsters to clear the opponent's field of threats.

The artwork, consistent with the gritty, biomechanical aesthetic of the lswarm cards, was designed to emphasize the theme of biological corruption. Upon its release, it was regarded by players as a specialized removal tool intended to provide tactical flexibility within the archetype. While it did not dominate the competitive landscape, it remains a notable piece for collectors focusing on the intricate narrative and mechanical progression of the long-running Duel Terminal storyline.
