Insect Armor with Laser Cannon

Insect Armor with Laser Cannon was released in the 2013 Number Hunters booster set, a special side set in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game designed to highlight Xyz Monsters and support specific archetypes. This spell card is part of a thematic group that provides equipment-style utility to Insect-type monsters, reflecting the game's long-standing tradition of translating various monster sub-types into distinct combat roles. The card's mechanics allow a monster to equip the armor, granting a stat boost that fits the aggressive, gear-focused aesthetic common in the set's design.

The card features artwork consistent with the high-fantasy, mechanical-insect aesthetic favored by the series illustrators. As a super-rare card, it was distributed with a holofoil finish that distinguishes it from common cards within the Number Hunters set. While it serves a niche role in deck building, its inclusion in the set reflects the developers' intent to flesh out support for underrepresented creature types, offering players specific tactical options during the era of the Xyz summoning mechanic.
