Launcher Spider

Launcher Spider was released in the Metal Raiders booster set, the second expansion pack for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the West, which debuted in 2002. As a mechanical-type monster, it reflects the industrial and technological aesthetic favored by the character Keith Howard in the original anime series. The design features a heavy, spider-like combat vehicle, emphasizing the series' early focus on quirky, machine-based monster designs that blended fantasy elements with industrial weaponry.

The card was illustrated with the gritty, high-contrast art style typical of the early Kazuki Takahashi era. While it did not reach the competitive heights of stronger monsters within the Metal Raiders set, it remains a nostalgic piece for long-time collectors of the game’s formative years. It serves as a representative example of the common-rarity filler cards that defined the accessibility of early Yu-Gi-Oh! sets, helping to flesh out the game's expansive roster of monsters.
