Launcher Spider

Launcher Spider was released in 2002 as part of the Metal Raiders booster set, the second expansion in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. This set was pivotal in establishing the game's early identity in the West, as it introduced iconic mechanics and a vast array of machine-type monsters. The card is a common-rarity normal monster, typical of the era's focus on filling out the lower tiers of competitive play with distinct, often mechanical, creature designs.

The artwork follows the aesthetic popularized by Kazuki Takahashi's original manga, emphasizing a gritty, industrial look common to the early machine-type cards in the set. As a common card, it served primarily as a bridge for players building early decks, reflecting a period where card diversity was expanding rapidly to include more specialized types beyond the initial starter decks.
