Provenance

Where it came from

Legend of Heart was released in the 2016 expansion Dragons of Legend: Unleashed, a set designed to bring cards previously featured in the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series to the physical trading card game. This particular card was intended to support the 'Legendary Dragon' archetype, allowing players to tribute a legendary knight to summon one of three iconic dragon forms. The set was created by Konami to bridge the gap between nostalgic anime moments and competitive play, catering to fans of the original series while introducing functional utility for deck-building.

The design of the card reflects the aesthetic established by Kazuki Takahashi's original artwork for the series, emphasizing a dramatic, epic fantasy style. As an Ultra Rare card within the set, it was intended to serve as a high-value pull for collectors, featuring the signature holofoil finish that characterizes the rarity. Upon release, it was well-received by fans for its ability to enable specialized strategies, successfully capturing the thematic essence of the anime while maintaining the technical structure required for card game mechanics.
