Litmus Doom Swordsman

Litmus Doom Swordsman was introduced in the 2018 Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG set Battles of Legend: Relentless Revenge. As a Ritual Monster, it serves as a nostalgic callback to the early eras of the game, designed to function effectively against trap-heavy decks by granting the player significant advantages while the card remains on the field. The card's aesthetic leans into the dark, gothic fantasy art style that defined the franchise's most iconic warrior-type monsters.

The design of Litmus Doom Swordsman draws inspiration from the tactical complexity of Ritual summoning, a mechanic that requires both a specific monster card and a corresponding spell card. In the context of the Battles of Legend series, which often reprints sought-after cards and introduces specialized support for various archetypes, this card was intended to provide a functional and thematic centerpiece for dedicated players. Its Ultra Rare status within the BLRR set underscores its intended prestige as a collectible highlight for those building decks around specific environmental conditions.
