Mask of Weakness

Mask of Weakness was originally released as a common trap card in the early Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game set Dark Beginning 1, which debuted in the mid-2000s. This set was specifically designed as a curated reprint collection, intended to provide new players with access to staple cards and thematic elements from the game's foundational early sets, such as Magic Ruler and Metal Raiders.

The card features artwork depicting a stylized, malevolent mask, consistent with the dark, occult-inspired aesthetic common to the early era of the game. Designed to weaken an opponent's monster during a specific window of combat, the card represents the tactical, trap-heavy style of play that defined the competitive environment during the game's initial global expansion. While never considered a top-tier competitive staple, it remains a nostalgic inclusion for collectors interested in the classic era of the game.
