Master Kyonshee

Master Kyonshee was originally introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as a common normal monster. Its design draws heavily from the folklore of the jiangshi, or hopping vampire, a staple of Chinese horror-comedy films from the 1980s. The character's traditional Qing dynasty-style burial clothing and the yellow talisman paper affixed to its forehead serve as iconic visual shorthand for these undead creatures, grounding the card's aesthetics in Eastern supernatural tradition.

The card was released in the Dark Revelation Volume 1 set, which served as a massive compilation designed to make previously elusive cards from early expansion sets more accessible to the player base. As a common card in this reprint collection, Master Kyonshee functioned primarily as a low-level earth-attribute zombie monster, intended to provide budget-conscious players with utility in defensive play styles rather than serving as a centerpiece of competitive deck building.
