Maxx "C"

Maxx 'C' first debuted in the Hidden Arsenal and Starstrike Blast expansions during the 2010-2011 period. It was designed as a strategic counter-measure to the increasingly fast-paced combo-based gameplay of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, rewarding players for responding to their opponent's special summons by allowing them to draw cards. This design choice fundamentally shifted competitive play, turning the card into a defining staple that players had to account for in nearly every deck build.

The 2012 Collectible Tins release, which included the CT09-EN012 printing, served to increase the accessibility of this high-impact card for a broader player base. The artwork, which depicts a parasitic insect preparing to feed, reinforces its role as a disruptive force on the board. Over the years, the card has seen numerous shifts in legality and regulation, reflecting its enduring status as one of the most influential and debated pieces of card design in the game's history.
