Megalith Phaleg

Megalith Phaleg was released in the 2020 North American expansion Ignition Assault, serving as part of the Megalith archetype. This collection was introduced during the Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game's wider expansion of ritual-based mechanics, specifically designed to function without the traditional requirement of a ritual spell card. The archetype is defined by a modular stone-construct aesthetic, emphasizing a theme of ancient, grounded power expressed through earth-attribute monster designs.

The visual design of the Megalith series was crafted to evoke the feeling of monumental architecture brought to life, with Phaleg depicted as a towering, crystalline entity. As a common rarity card, it was widely available to players upon release, aimed at providing accessible strategic depth for those exploring ritual summoning decks. While it functions as a mid-tier support piece within its specific engine, the artwork and theme were well-regarded for providing a cohesive, distinct look that departed from the more organic or metallic designs common to the era.
