Meklord Army of Granel

The Meklord Army of Granel was introduced as part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game's Battle Pack 3: Monster League, a set designed to simulate a drafting environment where cards could be used regardless of their original archetype. This specific card represents the 'Meklord Army' sub-archetype, which debuted during the 5D's era to serve as supporting pieces for the powerful Meklord Emperor boss monsters. Its design reflects the series' aesthetic shift toward mechanical, armor-clad entities intended to counter Synchro-based strategies within the game's evolving meta.

The art and mechanics were developed by Konami’s design team to emphasize the 'Meklord' theme of swarming the field and utilizing defensive, disruptive effects. While the card was a common release within the Battle Pack, its inclusion was a strategic choice to offer players a utility monster with a self-buffing effect that rewards board presence. Upon release, it was received primarily as a functional, accessible tool for casual play and limited-format drafting rather than a centerpiece for competitive tournament play.
