Meklord Army of Granel

The Meklord Army of Granel was introduced as part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game expansion War of the Giants Reinforcements, which served as a follow-up to the battle-focused War of the Giants series. This card represents a key component of the Meklord archetype, a group of machines originating from the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime series, where they served as the primary antagonists designed to combat Synchro Monsters. The monster’s design reflects the series' industrial, slightly dystopian aesthetic, characterized by fragmented, mechanical limbs and a metallic, earth-toned color palette intended to evoke a sense of overwhelming, relentless force.

The card was released as a Super Rare, identifiable by the distinct foil pattern applied to the card’s artwork. In the context of the game's evolution, the Meklord Army monsters were designed to support the larger Meklord Emperor boss monsters, providing players with specific utility effects meant to disrupt opponents. Upon its release, the card was received primarily as a niche tactical choice for players looking to bolster their machine-type decks, fitting into a mechanical design philosophy that emphasized swarm tactics and on-field presence rather than singular, overwhelming power.
