Meklord Army of Granel

The Meklord Army of Granel was released as part of the Extreme Victory booster set in 2011, serving as a key addition to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game during the 5D's era. These cards were introduced to represent the mechanical foot soldiers of the Meklord Emperor Granel, a primary antagonist force in the associated anime series. Their design reflects the overarching aesthetic of the Meklord theme, characterized by intricate, industrial-style armor and a focus on machine-type synergy that defined the late stages of the 5D's meta.

The card was designed to function within a swarm-based strategy, allowing players to utilize its unique ability to search for other members of its archetype from the deck. Illustrated with the cold, metallic precision typical of the era's machine-monster designs, the Meklord Army series was intended to provide technical support for the more powerful Meklord Emperor cards. It was received by the player base as a utility piece, valued primarily for its specific role in enabling consistent engine performance within its dedicated deck type.
