Metalfoes Counter

Metalfoes Counter was introduced as part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the 2017 Mega-Tin Mega Pack, which served as a compilation set featuring cards originally released in the 2016 core booster sets. This trap card was designed to support the Metalfoes archetype, a group of monsters defined by their ability to destroy friendly cards to trigger secondary effects and set powerful spells or traps directly from the deck. The card's design focuses on recovery, allowing players to special summon a Metalfoes monster from their deck whenever a card on the field is destroyed by battle or card effect.

As a common rarity card, Metalfoes Counter was intended to be an accessible utility tool for players utilizing the pendulum-summoning mechanic. It was received as a fundamental component for Metalfoes decks, providing the necessary resource loop to maintain board presence during the competitive meta of its time. The artwork reflects the industrial and mechanical aesthetic of the archetype, emphasizing the theme of using destruction as a tactical engine for further expansion.
