Metalfoes Orichalc

Metalfoes Orichalc was introduced in the 2016 expansion set The Dark Illusion, a pivotal release in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game that debuted the Metalfoes archetype. The theme centers on a group of psychically-powered, metal-clad warriors and their fusion creatures, drawing heavily from mecha and sentai aesthetics. As a common rarity fusion monster, it was designed to serve as a reliable, aggressive play-maker that rewards players for utilizing the archetype's signature pendulum-based destruction mechanics.

The card was designed to embody the fusion theme of the Metalfoes, featuring a striking design that blends industrial hardware with high-fantasy martial arts imagery. Players and collectors often note the card for its direct damage effect and stat-boosting capabilities, which solidified its position as a staple piece for the archetype's competitive viability during its peak in the mid-2010s. Like the rest of its set, it reflects the era's focus on faster fusion summoning cycles and resource management.
