Metaphys Horus

Metaphys Horus was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the 2015 Mega-Tin Mega Pack, which served as a compilation set gathering high-value cards from the previous year's major booster releases. As a Synchro Monster, it represents the continuation of the Metaphys archetype, a theme built around the manipulation of banished cards to gain strategic advantages on the field. Its design features the distinct light-based, ethereal aesthetic characteristic of the Metaphys series, contrasting heavily with the more grounded mechanical or organic designs found in other sets of the era.

The card was designed to reward players for Synchro Summoning using a non-tuner monster summoned from the hand, offering powerful effects that vary based on the monster's original type. It was received by the competitive community as a versatile utility card capable of negating face-up cards or taking control of an opponent's monster. While it did not define the competitive meta in the same way as core staples of the 2015 season, it remains a noted inclusion for its specific technical applications in decks capable of consistent Synchro plays.
