Mirror Force

Mirror Force was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the Metal Raiders expansion, released in North America in 2002. As one of the most iconic trap cards in the game's history, it was designed to serve as a powerful defensive stabilizer, allowing a player to destroy all of their opponent's attack position monsters when an attack is declared. This mechanic fundamentally shifted the game's tempo by penalizing aggressive play and forcing duelists to carefully consider their board presence.

The card features artwork depicting a shimmering, reflective barrier that redirects the energy of incoming attacks. Its design was intended to create a psychological deterrent, becoming a hallmark of high-stakes play in the early competitive meta. Upon its release, Mirror Force was highly sought after for its versatility and effectiveness, quickly cementing its status as an essential staple in deck construction and a core part of the game's legendary card pool.
