Night Assailant

Night Assailant first appeared in the Magician's Force expansion set in 2003, designed as part of the Fiend-type creature roster that defined the game's early strategic landscape. The card was conceived to provide players with a versatile tool for both board control and card economy, allowing for the retrieval of flip effect monsters from the graveyard. Its design aesthetic reflects the dark, gothic fantasy art style characteristic of the Konami illustration team during the mid-2000s, focusing on a shadowy, masked figure that evokes a sense of nocturnal menace.

The OTS Tournament Pack 19 version, released in 2022, serves as a competitive reprint intended to provide players with accessible, standardized copies for sanctioned tournament play. While this specific printing maintains the common rarity intended for wide distribution in OTS kits, it remains a staple for dedicated duelists who value its unique recursion ability. Throughout its history, the card has been received as a reliable technical choice in various formats, admired for its niche utility rather than raw power.
