Obnoxious Celtic Guard

Obnoxious Celtic Guard was introduced as part of the Warrior's Triumph structure deck, released by Konami in 2005. This deck was designed to capitalize on the popularity of Warrior-type monsters in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, providing players with a cohesive strategy centered around combat-focused archetypes. The card reflects the mid-2000s design philosophy of the game, which favored monsters with protective or defensive abilities that could disrupt an opponent's momentum during the battle phase.

The card's design features an armored warrior reminiscent of classical fantasy illustrations, intended to evoke a sense of stalwart defense. Mechanically, it was notable for its static ability that prevented it from being destroyed by high-attack monsters, a common point of contention and tactical focus during duels of that era. While it was a common rarity inclusion, it became a staple in casual play for its ability to stall aggressive strategies, marking it as a memorable piece of the early structure deck collection era.
