Ojama Green

Ojama Green was released in 2003 as part of the Dark Crisis booster set for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. As a Normal Monster representing the first member of the whimsical Ojama trio, the card reflects the aesthetic shift introduced in the early 2000s, moving away from high-fantasy archetypes toward the surreal, creature-based humor that defined the series' expansion during the GX era. It was designed to function as a low-level utility monster, meant to be utilized primarily as a combo piece for the unique Ojama support cards that followed in later sets.

The creature’s design, characterized by its eccentric, caricature-like appearance, is credited to the creative teams at Konami and Studio Dice under Kazuki Takahashi's oversight. These cards were initially received by players as novelty inclusions within the Dark Crisis set, contrasting sharply with the more competitive staples of the time. Over the years, the Ojama archetype evolved from a collection of curious oddities into a cult-favorite engine, appreciated by fans for its unconventional playstyle and distinctive, deliberately absurd artistic direction.
