Ojama Green

Ojama Green was originally introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the mid-2000s, debuting during the GX era of the franchise. It was designed as part of the Ojama archetype, a group of creatures known for their grotesque, exaggerated features and their specialized playstyle that disrupts the opponent's board by restricting monster zones. The design of the card, featuring the distinctively vibrant and unsettling aesthetic of the Ojamas, was intended to lean into a comedic and nuisance-focused identity that contrasts with the more traditional heroic monsters of the game.

The version included in the Speed Duel GX: Duel Academy Box, numbered SGX1-ENC02, was released as a common card to support the Speed Duel format. This format is designed to provide a more streamlined and accessible experience for players, reintroducing classic GX-era archetypes into a balanced, localized environment. By including the Ojama cards in this box, the developers aimed to bring the legacy of the Duel Academy story arc to a new generation of players, maintaining the original art style while integrating the card into the specific mechanical constraints of the Speed Duel ruleset.
