Where it came from
Ojama Green was first introduced in the Dark Crisis booster set, released in North America in 2004 during the height of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game's international expansion. The card was designed to be part of the quirky and visually unconventional Ojama archetype, which stood out for its cartoonish, grotesque aesthetic that contrasted sharply with the more traditional dragons and warriors dominating the game at the time.
The card’s illustration was crafted by the artists at Konami to emphasize the humorous and disruptive nature of the Ojama brothers. In the competitive meta, the card was initially received as a novelty or a niche support piece for Ojama-specific strategies, though it remains a recognizable fixture of the early 2000s common card pool for its distinctive character design and enduring role as a fan-favorite oddity.
