Poison of the Old Man

Poison of the Old Man was released as part of the Saber Force Starter Deck in 2015, a product designed by Konami for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. The deck was built around the Pendulum Summoning mechanic, an innovation introduced in the era to allow players to swarm the field with monsters. This card serves as a utility spell, providing the player with the flexibility to either inflict direct damage or gain life points, reflecting the strategic adaptability common in early-series support cards.

The card's design and thematic elements are typical of the franchise's long-running aesthetic, which blends fantasy tropes with modern game mechanics. While the specific illustrator is rarely credited publicly by the publisher, the artwork draws upon the classic stylistic conventions of the game's original era. Upon its release, it was received as a functional, accessible tool for newer players entering the game through the starter deck, rather than a centerpiece for competitive tournament play.
