Revival Jam

Revival Jam was first introduced in the early years of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, originally appearing in the Pharaoh's Servant expansion set. The card was designed to reflect the recurring, resilient nature of the Slime monsters featured in the animated series, specifically those utilized by the character Marik Ishtar. Its core mechanic—the ability to special summon itself from the graveyard upon destruction—was intended to serve as a defensive stalling tool that forces opponents to manage their resources efficiently to clear the field.

The version from Battle Pack 2: War of the Giants, numbered BP02-EN010, was released as a common card to provide players with accessible utility during the set's unique draft-style play format. By stripping away higher rarities and focusing on essential monster effects, the War of the Giants set sought to simulate a tactical environment where cards like Revival Jam could provide consistent board presence. It remains a notable example of early-era card design that balances a simple, repeatable effect with moderate defensive statistics.
