Ritual Sanctuary

Ritual Sanctuary first appeared in the 2016 Dragons of Legend: Unleashed set, which was designed to bring cards previously seen only in the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime into the physical card game. As a Field Spell card, it reflects the thematic focus of the set on powerful ritual-based strategies, specifically those utilized by characters within the series who favored summoning monsters through elaborate ceremonial spells.

The card features an intricate, mystical illustration that captures the lore of a sacred site dedicated to the ritual arts. While the specific artist is credited internally by Konami rather than publicly identified, the design aesthetic follows the high-fantasy style consistent with the era of the game. Upon its release, it became a staple utility piece for ritual-based decks, appreciated by players for its ability to recycle spent resources and search for key components during duels.
