Scapegoat

Scapegoat was originally introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in 2003, serving as a tactical Quick-Play spell card that allows a player to summon four Sheep Tokens to the field. Its design, characterized by the iconic white sheep illustrations, was intended to provide players with a versatile defensive barrier and a resource for tribute summons. The card quickly became a staple in competitive play for its ability to stall opponents and bridge the gap between early-game setup and late-game offensive maneuvers.

The Battle Pack 3: Monster League release of this card, numbered BP03-EN139, was designed specifically for a limited-draft environment where the focus was on balanced monster-based combat. As a common rarity print within this set, it stripped away the holographic flourishes of its previous iterations, emphasizing its utility as a functional tool for dueling. The release was well-received by players who appreciated the accessibility of such a classic strategic element in a format designed to challenge their deck-building skills on the fly.
