Where it came from
Scrum Force was released in 2016 as part of the Dragons of Legend: Unleashed booster set for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. This set was designed to bring cards previously featured only in the franchise's various animated television series into the physical game, allowing players to utilize unique cards that had previously been restricted to the screen.
The card features an illustration depicting a chaotic, high-energy clash of armored combatants, reflecting the 'Scrum' terminology used in rugby. It was designed to provide a tactical defensive option by preventing players from Special Summoning monsters with low attack points, serving as a disruptive trap card intended to disrupt aggressive field-swarming strategies common in the competitive meta of that era.
