Shaddoll Squamata

Shaddoll Squamata was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the 2014 set Duelist Alliance, drawing inspiration from the theme of corrupted, puppet-like monsters. The design features a grotesque, insectoid creature entwined with the strings of a marionette, reflecting the archetype's narrative of fallen warriors resurrected as mindless automatons. It was crafted by Konami's design team to serve as both a defensive tool and a graveyard-enabler, becoming a fundamental piece of the Shaddoll strategy.

The Ultra Rare version from Battles of Legend: Hero's Revenge, released in 2019, represents a later reprint that updated the card's accessibility for competitive play. As part of a series designed to reintroduce powerful historical cards to newer players, this version maintained the original artistic integrity while showcasing the high-quality holographic foil typical of the Battles of Legend sets. Its reception among the player base has remained consistently high due to its versatility and ability to facilitate the fusion summoning mechanics central to its archetype.
