Tenyi Spirit - Mapura was introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the Rising Rampage set in 2019, later appearing as an ultra-rare card in the 2022 release Ghosts From the Past: The 2nd Haunting. The Tenyi archetype draws inspiration from ancient Chinese philosophy and martial arts, specifically the concept of non-action and inner spiritual energy. Each member of the archetype is designed to support the summoning of Wyrm-type monsters, emphasizing a playstyle that relies on monsters without effects or those that can reveal themselves from the hand to exert influence on the field.

The visual design of Mapura, like the rest of the Tenyi spirits, utilizes a minimalist aesthetic that features ethereal, humanoid figures composed of swirling energy or celestial elements. This artistic direction was crafted to contrast with the more heavily armored or machine-like aesthetics common in other card themes.
