Twister

Twister was released in 2007 as part of the Strike of Neos booster set, a core expansion for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game that drew heavy inspiration from the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX animated series. The card was designed as a versatile, quick-play spell that allowed players to destroy a face-up spell or trap card by paying 500 life points. Its introduction provided players with a reliable, searchable removal tool during a period when backrow disruption was essential for managing increasingly complex field states.

The card features artwork depicting a swirling vortex, consistent with the elemental and chaotic aesthetic found throughout the Strike of Neos set. As a rare-tier card, it served as a accessible utility option for many decks, valued for its ability to chain to activation effects. While not as dominant as staple removal cards like Mystical Space Typhoon, its ability to be activated from the hand during the opponent's turn cemented its place as a practical, widely recognized tool in the game's competitive landscape during the mid-2000s.
