Ursarctic Megapolar

Ursarctic Megapolar was released in the 2021 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game expansion Ancient Guardians. This set introduced the Ursarctic archetype, a theme characterized by high-level Water-attribute monsters that feature a unique playstyle centered on special summoning themselves by tributing other monsters from the hand, rather than the field. The design draws heavy inspiration from celestial constellations and mecha aesthetics, blending the concept of great bears with futuristic armor.

The artistic direction for the Ursarctic line focuses on a cold, cosmic motif, with the monsters often depicted against starry, celestial backdrops to emphasize their astronomical naming convention. As a rare-tier card within the Ancient Guardians set, Megapolar serves as a key utility piece for the deck, providing essential searching capabilities that allow players to navigate their strategy. Upon its release, the archetype was recognized for its mechanical complexity and distinct visual identity within the broader Yu-Gi-Oh! landscape.
