Zoma the Spirit

Zoma the Spirit was first introduced in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the Gold Series: Haunted Mine set, released in 2012. The card is a unique trap monster that, when activated, special summons itself to the field as a monster with a specific effect that deals damage to the opponent based on battle. It reflects the design philosophy of the era, which sought to introduce more interactive trap cards that could serve both defensive and offensive roles during a duel.

The card features artwork depicting a spectral, skeletal figure, aligning with the eerie aesthetic of the Haunted Mine set. It was designed to provide players with a versatile tool for disrupting enemy strategies while maintaining pressure on the board. Like many cards in the Gold Series, its inclusion was intended to offer players a reliable and accessible option, appearing as a common rarity that prioritized gameplay utility over the decorative gold-lettering or foil treatments seen on higher-rarity cards within the same series.
