Zoma the Spirit

Zoma the Spirit debuted in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the Turbo Pack: Booster Five, released to support the organized play circuit. The card functions as a trap monster, a specialized category of cards introduced to provide defensive versatility by transitioning from the backrow into a battle-ready state. Its design reflects the macabre and supernatural aesthetic characteristic of many early-to-mid era trap cards, utilizing a dark, spectral motif to convey its ability to inflict damage upon destruction.

The card was illustrated with a focus on eerie, ephemeral imagery, aiming to capture the essence of a vengeful spirit manifesting on the field. Within the competitive landscape, it was received as a niche technical card, valued by players for its capacity to punish aggressive opponents during the battle phase. As a Rare-tier card in a Turbo Pack, it remains a distinct piece of the game's mid-2010s history, representative of the era's experimentation with hybrid monster-trap mechanics.
