Zushin the Sleeping Giant

Zushin the Sleeping Giant first appeared in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX anime, introduced as a legendary card belonging to the character Trueman. It was designed to represent the pinnacle of growth mechanics within the trading card game, requiring a player to keep a specific monster on the field for ten consecutive turns to perform a special summon. This complex condition reflects its thematic role as a mythological, slumbering entity that demands immense patience to awaken.

The card was released in the Dragons of Legend: The Complete Series set as a common reprint, making it accessible to players interested in its unique 'tribute' effect. While the card is often cited by players as difficult to utilize competitively due to the high risk of its summoning requirements, it remains a notable piece of collector history for its direct ties to the GX series narrative and its distinct status as one of the few cards with a multi-turn summoning ritual.
