Where it came from
B-Daman Fireblast, known in Japan as Cross Fight B-Daman eS, was produced by d-rights and SynergySP for TV Tokyo, premiering in 2012 as a direct sequel to the 2011 Cross Fight B-Daman series. The show served as a promotional vehicle for the revamped toy line from Takara Tomy, which introduced new mechanics to the marble-shooting franchise. The narrative shifted to a more competitive, tournament-focused structure, emphasizing the evolution of the B-Daman figures and their associated 'Cross Fight' system.
The series was designed to appeal to a younger demographic interested in the intersection of action-figure customization and strategic sport-like combat. While the B-Daman franchise has deep roots in 1990s hobby culture, this iteration leaned into modernized, aggressive aesthetics and high-speed gameplay mechanics meant to mirror the speed and power of the updated physical toys. The series received a moderate reception, functioning primarily as a reliable entry in the long-running franchise that maintained the core appeal of tactical toy-based competition for its established audience.
