Blade

Blade was produced in 2011 as part of the Marvel Anime project, a collaboration between Marvel Entertainment and the renowned Japanese animation studio Madhouse. This series reimagined the vampire hunter Eric Brooks, transplanting the dark, gothic tone of the American comic book character into a sleek, fast-paced anime format set primarily in Southeast Asia. It serves as an exploration of the character's quest for vengeance against Deacon Frost, framing the narrative through the lens of traditional shonen and seinen animation sensibilities.

The series was directed by Mitsuyuki Masuhara, who aimed to blend the gritty atmosphere of the Marvel source material with Madhouse's signature high-fidelity character designs and fluid combat sequences.
