Chalk-iro no People

Chalk-iro no People, released in 1988 by NEC Avenue, emerged during a transitional period for the Japanese home video market, which was heavily invested in the Original Video Animation format. Produced as a standalone experimental work, it reflected the industry's willingness to experiment with idiosyncratic visual styles and melancholic, slice-of-life storytelling that moved away from the high-octane action typical of the 1980s anime landscape.
