Where it came from
Charlotte: Strong People was released in 2016 as an original video animation episode for the anime series Charlotte, which was produced by P.A.Works and directed by Yoshiyuki Asai. This OVA serves as a supplementary story that takes place within the timeline of the main series, expanding on the interactions between the primary cast members who possess unique adolescent superpowers.
The animation features the character designs originally conceived by Na-Ga for the visual novel studio Key. The production aimed to retain the thematic blend of supernatural drama and school-life comedy that defined the original television run. Upon its release, it was received primarily by the series' established fanbase as a nostalgic extension of the show's conclusion, focusing on character-driven moments that did not fit into the primary narrative arc.
