Classroom of the Elite Season 2

Classroom of the Elite Season 2 was produced by Studio Lerche and released in 2022, serving as a long-awaited continuation of the anime adaptation based on the light novel series by Shogo Kinugasa. The season was commissioned by Kadokawa to adapt the remaining volumes of the series' first-year arc, focusing on the psychological high-stakes competition within the Advanced Nurturing High School. The production team aimed to heighten the tension of the series, moving into more intense character-driven conflicts that define the social hierarchy of the school.

The character designs were handled by Kazuaki Morita, who sought to maintain the sleek, distinctive aesthetic established by the original illustrator, Shunsaku Tomose. The animation direction sought to balance the cold, calculated atmosphere of the setting with the show's signature dramatic flair. Upon its release, the season received significant attention for its complex narrative pivots and the continued exploration of its protagonist's Machiavellian approach to the school's meritocratic system.
