Where it came from
Classroom of the Elite Season 3 was produced by Studio Lerche and released in early 2024 as part of the ongoing adaptation of the light novel series written by Shogo Kinugasa and illustrated by Shunsaku Tomose. The series emerged from a highly competitive landscape of high-concept psychological school dramas, aiming to depict the intense meritocratic battles within the fictional Advanced Nurturing High School. This season specifically covers the climax of the first-year curriculum, focusing on the sophisticated strategic maneuvers of the protagonist, Kiyotaka Ayanokoji.
The production process for this season was heavily overseen by Kadokawa, reflecting the publisher's commitment to maintaining the visual language established in previous installments. The character designs by Kazuaki Morita were meticulously adapted to translate Tomose's sharp, detailed illustrations into animation, balancing the show's aesthetic appeal with its darker narrative themes. Upon release, the season was received as a pivotal conclusion to the initial arc, drawing significant engagement from an international audience accustomed to the series' intricate power dynamics.
