Koudo Ikusei Senior High School is a leading school with state-of-the-art facilities. The students there have the freedom to wear any hairstyle and bring any personal effects they desire. Koudo Ikusei is like a utopia, but the truth is that only the most superior students receive favorable treatment.
Kiyotaka Ayanokouji is a student of D-class, which is where the school dumps its "inferior" students in order to ridicule them. For a certain reason, Kiyotaka was careless on his entrance examination, and was put in D-class. After meeting Suzune Horikita and Kikyou Kushida, two other students in his class, Kiyotaka's situation begins to change.

Where it came from
Classroom of the Elite began as a light novel series written by Shogo Kinugasa and illustrated by Shunsaku Tomose, debuting in 2015. The 2017 anime adaptation, produced by studio Lerche, was released during a period of high interest in psychological school-life dramas. It centers on the Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School, a government-sponsored institution designed to foster elite individuals, where students compete in a cutthroat social hierarchy defined by internal point systems.
The character designs by Tomose emphasize a sharp, modern aesthetic that contrasts with the intense, often cynical narrative tone of the series. Directed by Seiji Kishi and Hiroyuki Hashimoto, the adaptation was intended to capture the complex intellectual battles and manipulative strategies that define the source material. Upon its release, the series garnered attention for its unique premise and darker take on the traditional high school anime genre, eventually leading to multiple sequels that continued the exploration of its complex ensemble cast.
