This film is an allegory toward clumsy people. Having met egocentric people, I go down the stairs of melancholia. I get swallowed up by the waves that I myself create. I know life is not only bad... But who am "I"? What am "I"?

Where it came from
Cogito Wonderland was produced by Geidai Animation, the student-led production initiative associated with the Tokyo University of the Arts. Emerging from the school's graduate program in animation, the film serves as a representative example of the studio's focus on experimental storytelling and traditional aesthetic techniques, often utilizing the collaborative environment of a university setting to push the boundaries of independent Japanese animation.
The project reflects the institution's emphasis on combining academic rigor with artistic expression. As an independent production, it was crafted to showcase the diverse illustrative styles of the university's emerging talent, aiming to present a cohesive narrative within a surrealist framework. Upon its release, it was primarily received within the context of animation festivals and academic showcases, where it garnered attention for its unconventional visual language and the technical proficiency of its creators.
